Generally they don't. You just came across a couple of unbelievable deals, and I'm glad you were able to capitalize on them.
Mainly from a durability standpoint, I have seen some images where the plastic ends up cracking, would rather play it safe.

I almost had one of those, it was for sale for $150, but the top was rusting so I passed, two days later I found the one I posted, what is that insert you have on yours?On this one it had the white table that was prone to cracking (mine did while I was moving it) and replaced it with this one, this one is better built.

Yeah I didn't realize these came without propane assist until I picked it up...I did get some good money back for it even without assist. I actually prefer the welded handle because of the thermometer location in the handle.
Keep an eye on the welds that hold the handle to the bowl. You'll want to keep them oiled up with a little cooking oil to prevent rusting
I got right on it, even got a high heat blue to keep it painted as well, been noticing that as a heavy rust area when I have gone to look at them before.
