Performer combination

I was after a blue performer because I love the blue color. Found a second gen for 50 bucks and then someone sold a 3rd gen for 25. Went ahead and switched tables since metal is better. Not that it is a huge deal, but it has bothered me that the lid hanger always had the lid at a slight angle, so I swapped those too because the newer one sits straight. I still can't believe people sell these off for so little money.

Generally they don't. You just came across a couple of unbelievable deals, and I'm glad you were able to capitalize on them.

That said, if you see more like this in your area...let me know what part of the country you're in and I'll figure out a way to get there and nab some myself. ;)

I live in Maryland, I just saw one that needs an igniter for 35 bucks in CT. Luckily I found an opportunity to flip the one after I swapped the parts, so I ended up making money after all of this too.

On this one it had the white table that was prone to cracking (mine did while I was moving it) and replaced it with this one, this one is better built.

That is nice! I almost had one of those, it was for sale for $150, but the top was rusting so I passed, two days later I found the one I posted, what is that insert you have on yours?

Pretty much every single part on those 2 Performers you picked up are interchangeable....the only thing that isn't would be the handle, that is welded down on the older ones and bolt-on on the newer ones.
I like the newer frames vs the Gen 2 mainly because the tool holder hooks, but I see the newer one you got doesn't have the gas starter. Still you got lucky picking both of those up for $75 total. Hopefully you sold the extra one for $100+ after cleaning it up.
Those plastic tables are junk, good move swapping it for the metal one.

Yeah I didn't realize these came without propane assist until I picked it up...I did get some good money back for it even without assist. I actually prefer the welded handle because of the thermometer location in the handle.

Keep an eye on the welds that hold the handle to the bowl. You'll want to keep them oiled up with a little cooking oil to prevent rusting
