Oh, where to begin?!?......:
I usually stock-up on the basics:
-Kosher Flake Salt (get a shaker with big holes)
-Granulated Onion
-Granulated Garlic
-3-color Peppercorns for my Pepper Mill
-Whole Nutmeg (get a fine razorplane - once you use whole, you'll never go back to pre-ground)
-Bay Leaf
-Oregano
(For most herbs, I prefer fresh, but their dried are good, and relatively fresh.)
I'll second or third the Chili-9000 - it's a bit more complex than your typical Chili Powder, but also REALLY GOOD
Paprika - I like the sweet
Their "half-sharp" is pretty hot stuff!
Cloves
Try several different kinds of Cinnamon:
-I like the Penzey's blend for general baking
-Saigon Cinnamon where you want that hot-candy "kick"
-Ceylon Cinnamon for moles and stuff like that
That's a good starting point
