OTS to OTG upgrade

sorry if this has been answered before but the sweepers on my OTS are still good, can I just add the ash catcher ( part number 63093) without having to replace the sweeper ?

I have several standard Weber lid thermometers; one with my performer, one I put on a 22" OTS and one for my Mini WSM. The Weber lid thermometer is very reliable but the temps at the dome are consistently 25 degrees higher than at the cooking grate. I use a Maverick grate thermometer and several other grate thermometers for my WSM. The Weber thermometer is inexpensive and is accurate ( as long as you determine the cooking grate temp with a grate thermometer).

Sandy, yes you can. Got to the website Dwain posted (Ereplacementparts.com). You can get all kinds of parts for webers. Glad he posted that

Cool thread. I added a lid bale, therm and the ash bucket to my 22.5" copper OTS earlier this summer. The lid bale is just plain fantastic to have. I also converted my red 18.5 to a OTG as well. Even painted all my ash buckets black, as I prefer the look. No need to change the sweeper unless it is bad.

The black pan does make a nice look.

Sandy, my original problem was the sweeper system and the ash catcher was more of an impulse buy. You can do either without doing both.
