Oniony Brisket

Way back in the last century when I only had a Smokey Joe (they only sold what is now the Silver) I used to cook brisket in the oven with a package of Lipton Onion Soup sprinkled on it. That was good stuff Maynard!!

So I was thinking of making a paste of Cattleman's Original and Onion soup rubbing the brisket with it, then cooking it (prob at hi temp) - maybe adding more soup powder in apple juice when foiling.

You comments please.

Why not. Experimenting is how I find out if its good or not. Even if it doesnt come out like you hope I bet it would still make great chili meat. Im still searching.

Rich, I tried this not too long ago with a chuck roast done on the WSM and did not like it. It came out real bitter for some reason and I threw the meat out, it was nasty. In the oven it always came out great but on the WSM with the smoke it was not edible IMO. YMMV
