One lazy guy.

I don't use my wsm as often as I'd like since it's way down at the bottom of the back stairs off my deck. I hve a few old warming ovens I was going to turn into smokes some day, but being one lazy guy, I never got 'round to it. I decided to put one on the back deck to use as a wind break and to protect the wooden deck from spurious sparkage.

With the access door on, and all the wsm vents open, except the one that's stuck shut, the temp was over 500 degrees. Here's a pic taken while I was setting it up.

After cooking up some chicken, I put a foiled water pan in (with a folded up aluminum half pan under the foil for air space). After a few hours, the lid temp was 350 and the bottom grate temp was 354. I'm not a high temp kinda guy but I thought some of you who are might want to try a blanket or something for some insulation. Maybe I'll take the weber kettle out of the living room fireplace now....nah, probably not.

Dave - that's pretty interesting.

You may want to consider editing the title of your post or posting the same information in a new one that describes it better. There may be a lot of folks that would like to know that but may not be interested in reading about "One lazy guy".
