it's pink, and made in arlington heights.

i'm confused on the color. if its a faded red, why are there 2 bands of unfaded. It can't be related to the light, as the gradients are even all the way around the kettle.

from what I gather, the two tone reds were several years after this grills age.

I really don't think weber made a pink kettle. But who knows.

Could be the very rare "Mary Kay" edition.

Its gotta be faded. My guess is the dye used to make it has had some kind of deteriration over time. The color that lasted is probably of a different material.
Either way, thats a rough old beast!

You could always use it during breast cancer awareness month.. I told my wife that the colors are seasonal.. My Lime was used at Easter.. My red for the 4th..etc, etc..
Hey, its worth a shot, right?

It's not any of that! That's the way they were made. They are listed in the old catalog.

I agree with SHaun, this is the way it's supposed to look. Shaun had a catalog that showed it. It's awesome....Troy if you don't want it, I'm here for ya buddy. I love it, I want it and I'll take it in a heartbeat. You let me know. If not I can certainly can help you touch it up like your baby blue,

Go back 20 posts in this thread and click the link on Shauns post, scroll down and it's there. I believe it's the one on the top of the page. Plus the one in that thread looks pretty much like yours too, that's why I don't think it's faded, they look too similar.

or are you saying it's pink, and in the style of that old copper mist/sunset?

if that's the case - this would be the first documented pink weber (as far as i've seen)

This grill sounds like too much trouble Troy....I'll just swing by and get it and I'll take all that stress out of your life.

I'm saying it has a similar look, and we all know that the paint from Weber is never the same color twice. I have four blue grills and no two are the same color. I have two redheads and they aren't the same color. Maybe the guy who applied the color that day was a little hung over. Maybe the pigment was off a little and it went more pink than orange. I do know a lot of times tan fades to a pinkish color when exposed to light for a long time. Maybe your is faded from orange to pink but the striping is how it looked in the first place. That's what I think anyhow.

i was just kidding about the planter :P

you can certainly fix the paint and handle.

i'll probably pass the whole thing to you. I'm running out of room.

I'm already in love with this grill...I'm so ready to put it on my deck. You decide, I could even trade you something for it if you wanted. I have a sweet redhead! Just let me know when you want to make the exchange.
