OK fellow geniuses LOL Electrical issue

So, I have this brand new Baratza Virtuoso+ that is totally DOA. I bought it for parts/repair as it apparently had been a return to Amazon or some such place. So, first rule of thumb is KISS. (if you don't know what that is don't read further LOL).
Anyway first thing I'm doing is checking internal fuse. It's good, next thing I'm checking for power where it should be beginning with the 120V Molex. BOOM! No power. OK, let's test continuity of the cord. Now it gets REALLY fun. Cord has continuity but plug it in and power does not pass to the Molex!
Now, I am really puzzled! Anyone ever seen a cord pass continuity test but get no power through? I know I haven't!
I have to start cooking so I'm gonna put the project away for a bit. This is one that is really gnawing at me
 
You know how to check for continuity, so I feel awkward replying. Did you check for continuity at the back side of the Molex housing, or the plug-in side? Is the mating housing soldered to a PCBA, or are these wire-to-wire plug and receptacle housings?

As for where I checked I did it both ways. Back side and female side (side which attaches to the PCB), I also tried with the Molex plugged into the PCB for continuity and both ways showed good continuity. But either plugged into the PCB or not, my meter stays at 0 for voltage.

OK I officially feel STOOOOPID! I did not realize the meter (a new one I bought recently to supplement my old Fluke) was not an auto switching meter. This one is on me. What an idiot I am :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Well stay tuned to the troubleshooting saga LOL. Now that I've gotten past meter operation 101 I think I need to turn in my man card
 
Manual?! It's a nice meter (really is) but it's in such tiny print and in Chinglish there is no understanding it. It was shown as "auto ranging" on Amazon. So I wrongly assumed it meant AC/DC as well because the markings on the dial allude to that.
Last time I used it was on the car (when I messed the tailgate up on the Highlander another "don't ask thing" LOL Short version, I was tracing a wiring issue after installing a camera. Little did I know once you disconnect the wiring harness the body module loses it's marbles and completely disables everything electronic on it. So it needs to be recalibrated with a scan tool. Who knew?
Anyway I was using the "logic" function on it. And I'd bought it specifically for that type of work because my old Fluke had none of that
