I see this sauce is very popular. I just don't know...is it a basting sauce, mopping, dipping?

It's whatever you like to use it for.

I have used it for dipping and I put it on the side for guests to brush on or dip for their ribs. And I even used it in a crockpot to slow cook country style ribs. It's a great sauce for everything.
