Newbie with an old Genesis--learning to refurb!

Back on. Am not dead and have not forgotten y'all. Life drama, illness, but my gas Weber is still going strong.

More work to do on it this fall.

AND...I pulled out my old Weber kettle and am learning low and slow. But that's for a different subforum.

Hope everyone is doing good and hope to be around a bit more.
:D

Glad you are back in the saddle. Keep the flame burnin'.
Thanks! I do have a question...is there a specific forum for low and slow on the kettle? I went looking, but this forum is more complex than a glance will tell. I don't want to dupe something that already exists.'

Probably just posting in the Kettle forum will be good.

Just read through this whole thread, congrats on all the things you've learned and the nice job you did fixing up your grill! And kudos to all the people giving fantastic advice and tips!
Thanks! I've got to figure out cleaning more regularly. Every time I grill now, I'm worried about a grease fire. I'm not sure the cast iron griddle pan (it's a lodge, not a Weber) is worth the extra grease. I absolutely LOVE it, but I might have to keep my flattop Blackstone going for the times I want a griddle surface. Easier cleanup.
