Very informative site , looking forward to picking up lots of tips and advice. Been getting good results on a pellet grill for the last several years , but now it's time to move on to the WSM , just trying to decide on what size to pull the trigger on !

Welcome to the site and good luck with future cooks. As for what size WSM it really depends on what you are cooking and how many people you normally cook for. In my home it is just my wife and I but we do have adult children and extended family. I just decided to spend the extra $100.00 and go BIG (22.5). The additional fuel can be an issue, but it can also be conserved. The important thing is either one will work and give you excellent results. Good Luck.

Welcome Mike. Unfortunately picking between the two is a very subjective thing. If possible, you should probably try to find someplace that has both and check them out in person. Good Luck!

Hey Mike, I am a new guy here also, but have learned a lot as a visitor for some time.. from Jersey also.
I went through the same thing you are deciding on and went with the 22.5. You can cook efficiently with 22.5, there are a couple of easy ways to do it, and you can cook larger cuts including full briskets and full length sections of ribs.
That was important to me, because those are trickier to cook in the 18.5. Though I believe from what I hear that it is more efficient with fuel.
So welcome and you will enjoy either.

Welcome aboard Mike! If you are use to a larger capacity grill, such as a
pellet grill then I would recommend the WSM 22. But since I don't know
how big a pellet grill you have, then either one will work excellently. I have
the 18, but it does get tricky at times with getting full slabs of ribs on it
and a full packer brisket.

Thanks for the welcome guys, Im going to go with the 22 , ill be going down to the garden center tomorrow !
