Good morning. My name is Cody and I live just west of Madison Wisconsin. I’ve been a Weber fanatic for years, but only the charcoal variety. That changed this summer when I saw a lonely early 90’s Genesis sitting at a curb. I grabbed it up and began researching. While trying to source parts for the folding wood table I found one on marketplace for $25 an hour and a half away. I went and grabbed it. It was a true unicorn that came with the original rotisserie, steam-n-chips, and the original grate (never used) that was removed to install the box. Even included the owners manual and steam-n-chips installation manual. Both are redheads. I then found Bruce from a marketplace post and reached out to him with some questions, and he has been an amazing source of knowledge and ideas! Thanks to him for being patient with me and all my questions (hopefully he sees this!) As I’m still learning the different models and generations of the Genesis series of grills. A couple weeks ago I had a Genesis E330 curb find which I did a full makeover to the last couple weekends as my wife likes the look of those more, she was cool with a refurbish and bring home. Here are the pics of that. Some American Wagyu for its maiden (for me) cook! Note:The knobs were the last item to put on! And forgot when I took the final pic! 😂

A tank cover improves the look.

I am going to ask for one for Christmas! Or I may just find my way to one sooner!
Nice work on the 330. Looks great! You don't have Weberitis. No. I don't think so.

Wait... You might have it.
Oh, I have had Weberitis for years... just didn't know how enjoyable it is with the gassers! I have been watching for free ones, and then fixing them up for friends. So far my count is at 5. It is actually kind of cool, because I was showing this to a buddy of mine, and he said he wanted a grill for his cabin. So he's been sending me screenshots from FB marketplace of Webers. He's missed out on a couple this fall, but being in Wisconsin the window of free curbside grills is closing... but it never fails, early spring they start showing back up! I cant wait to post the Genesis 2 I scored for $25 earlier this summer... it is incredible!

Finally got the new casters last night and I had been enjoying myself with some cocktails so I figured I’d wait until today to take this task on.

The old wheels popped out relatively easy. The old inserts were absolutely in love with the frame. So I ended up drilling out the plastic thru the holes that were in the bottom (I assume to allow water out). I will be spraying some Automotive grade cavity wax/rustproofing into the legs tomorrow from where the bit nicked the inner frame. You can also see I got a little over zealous with trying to use the drill bit like a rotozip and snapped one.

The new inserts fit right in, but not real snug. They slid in and out quite easy. So I took a hammer and a hard plastic tipped tool and tapped the square tube in to pinch them in more firmly.

Wheels popped right in and it rolls AMAZING!! They’re not the most stylish but I think they’re a definite upgrade. I also took some time and did a scrape down and quick cleaning of the fire box, flavor bars, heat deflectors and grates since I’ve got probably 50+ cooks on this since bringing it back to life last fall.

Cheers!
