New puppy

Hope your little girl feels better. Our boy, Winchester tore a ligament in his knee on 4/25 and had TPLO surgery on 5/5. He’s healing, gonna take a while. Dogs are tough! (Photo, see above.)
There are few things sadder than a dog that must wear a "cone of shame." :-(

Andy... Great looking puppy !!!
By chance, what makes the breed not for everyone ?
Note: Our current is a 4 yr old Long Coat German Shepard @ just over 100 lbs.
Wow! That's a lot of dog. Please be sure you know what you're in for. Those long coat dogs take a lot of care (experience with collie, Setter and several Malamutes here). Mine were all wonderful dogs, but my back still echos those long hours of grooming.

Good advice for those first timers !
For us, it's too late.... ;)
Have had large breed dogs since the mid 1970s.
Yeah, get that. The 95 lb collie was our first in 1974. But the 110 Mal left us only 15 years ago. No more of that -- our Affenpinschers have a similar personality and mentality to the Mals (aka stubborn), but a lot less maintenance. 😁

Bob,
they are just tenacious and fearless as all get out.
If you don’t keep them occupied or mentally stimulated properly you might regret it.
Most only trust family members and are prone to bite non members.
For fun they like biting and running cattle.

This pup is going into beach training in a week or.
I want him to do this if possible.

Wishing you the very best hugs from your new great looking family member !!!
Over at our house, the wife is a trail runner and triathlete, so GSD workouts are common place ;)
