New Performer, Rotisserie and Food Saver V3880

For my 5 year anniversary at work, I received a gift card to use on Amazon and purchased a Weber Performer Grill with gas assist. I also got the Weber Rotisserie Kit to go along with the Performer and my existing Weber Silver Kettle, as well as a Food Saver V3880.

I have not opened anything yet. I am here to ask if there are any things that you guys think I should do prior to even assembling this thing. Are there any parts that I should replace as I assemble it? Are there any modifications that I should do while putting it together?

Thanks in advance!

I just purchased a new Performer w/ gas assist and have yet to find anything I'd change, but a lot of guys upgrade to cast iron grates. But that can of course be done later.

I have a question for you, though: Are there any openings where you work? That's a sweet little bonus. I just had my 5 year anniversary where I work and no one even acknowledged it.

Congratulations on the anniversary and the nice score. Good luck and good Que-ing!

I am lucky with the place I work. Insurance is still mainly paid for by the company and we do get 5 and 10 year anniversary gifts still. I hope we stay a small company. It seems when they grow much, that's when all of the good stuff disappears.

Mac, I haven't changed out anything out on a my performer. I did add a probe grommet later, but that can be done after assembly if it was something you wanted. Get to assembly and cooking asap!

I hit 10 years last December and my vacation time didn't even go up!

I got her put together in about 45 minutes last night. I must commend Weber. This was by far the easiest grill I have ever assembled, though when I just glanced at the instructions, I thought it was going to be difficult since it was all pictures and no text, but turns out it was a piece of cake.

I fired her up and made a mess of chicken legs for dinner. They turned out great! I love my cast iron grates I got for my B-day a couple of weeks ago.

I'll have to give the rotisserie a run this weekend and see how it goes. I have a Ronco Rotisserie and it turns out some decent grub, but cleanup is a PITA. I'm thinking this one will give out MUCH better flavor!

Mac;

Congratulations on your 5 year.I wish more companies would do this kind of thing, mine use to till times got tuff and they pulled back on all kinds of things.
Everytime you use it you will know where it came from and why.
