Just joined today after a lot of my searches led me to this site concerning Weber Smokey Mountain smokers. I bought my first smoker last year used, 18.5” Weber Smokey Mountain. It came with the big water pan. I changed the lid thermometer to one made by River Country last year.
Last summer I did ribs and a pork butt. Getting up at 3am to get the pork butt started to have for dinner is a little rough but I’m retired and have the time.
Last night I got my smoker out for the first time this year. We still have snow on the the ground so I set it up in the opening of my 2 car detached garage with both doors open. Did the Basic Barbque Chicken recipe I got here and it came out great. I did 2 chickens halved so we’d have left overs.
Also have a 23 year old Weber Silver Series B gas grill at home converted to NG. It sits on the deck with a cover on it and we use it all year. Have a Weber Q grill at my camp, makes it easy to get in and out of the door.
