Hi, I'm buying a new smokey joe 14" 40020 to take to the beach for picnics. I'll have a chimney and charcoal. What I need is a safe duffel type bag to bring the stuff home when it's still warm. I'd like the bag to be it's permanent storage too. Please, let me know any ideas. Thank you, Annie

I would NOT put in any sort of bag until it’s cool, it’s an accident waiting to happen, take an extra half hour and just wait for it to be fully extinguished. Enjoy the beach!

Did you compare the Joe to the Go-Anywhere? The WGA seems to be better for taking with you unless you definitely need more room

Ann, have a look at a Weber Q1000 or Q1200 if you get the chance,

If you're picnicking with a portable Weber charcoal grill, it's not safe to transport until you've dumped whatever hot charcoal is left. It's also not recommended to douse the hot charcoal with water, as it can crack the porcelain enamel finish and make a huge mess, of course. So if you have the option to safely dump the leftover hot charcoal at the beach, a Smokey Joe is a good choice, and they make a carrying bag for it.

Otherwise a portable gas grill might be the better option. There is a propane version of the Go-Anywhere grill, the legs fold up to lock the lid and you just carry it by the lid handle. No carrying bag that I'm aware of.

A Weber Q 1000 is another propane grill that might be a good option. Weber doesn't sell a carrying bag, but several third parties sell them.
