New Genesis Help... Nonstick?

My wife bought me a new genesis for our anniversary... did some turkey burgers last night and they stuck to the grill... curious if I need to season the grates at all before use? or should I have brushed down the grates with olive oil before tossing the turkey burgers on? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Congrats on the anniversary and new Genesis, one heck of a gift!

I find turkey burgers a little more tricky as they aren't as greasy as regular burgers, so I like to lightly coat the patties with olive oil just before putting them on the grill.

I hate turkey burgers, you could coat them with valvoline and they would still stick. Best methode I've found is use a little canola oil on them and let them sit and don't try to flip them until they release on thier own, if they ever do. 50/50 chance. I also think the package they come in would taste better then the burgers, way to dry for me.

LOL; I hear ya Rich! I agree that they need to sit on the hot grate until there's enough of a sear that they release. Patties should be dry of water moisture and a little canola helps.

Best way I've found to help prevent anything from sticking is to use an old towel and with a damp part of it wipe the grill, then either spray (keeping away from the grill to prevent a flame thrower incident) the dry side of the towel with a non-stick spray or put cooking oil on it and with the grate with that.
