Today, I picked up a smoke colored Genesis EP-330 today to replace my Spirit. The Spirit worked well, but I had grill envy every time I walked through Home Depot or Lowes. A local hardware store (Brownsboro Hardware) matched the 10% veterans discount and was a pleasure to deal with. I only had to deal with one associate who rang me up, gave me a quick demo and helped me load up the grill, in less time than it takes to get someone's help at Lowe's.
This Genesis is a beast overall compared to my old Spirit. I was shocked to see it hit 700 after about 10 minutes. The sear station wasn't a joke. We had some chicken, potatoes, and truely roasted tomatoes for dinner.
I did notice two small chips in the hood enamel and called Weber about it. I expected a vial of touch up paint, but they said they'd send out a replacement hood right away. I was shocked and felt kind of guilty; because the shipping alone can't be cheap, much less the hood. A big thumbs up for Weber's customer service.
