Hello All,
I have been using a 22" Weber kettle for years and finally decided I need something a little smaller now that the kids are raised and I'm just grilling for myself. So I just picked up a CGA and have been amazed at all the creative mods that folks have posted for this grill.

However, after watching numerous YouTube videos I have a question. It appears that CGAs sold in the UK come with a heat shield for the lid handle while US models do not. Is it possible to buy a UK lid from Weber? I realize that I could just mod my own but I'm curious as to why Weber doesn't just make this a standard for the US model.

It is required for safety reasons in Europe but not here so they save money by not adding it.

Got it, thanks! I'd say a nominal price increase for the US model would be well worth it. That handle can get pretty warm.

Have seen folks make their own shields. Not that difficult. Or just use a glove.
