New build - HM 4.3 No power to LCD

Can anyone see anything glaring with my build? I get lights to the Rpi, but the lcd doesn't power and no led power. I read some ohm testing on the 4.2, but wasn't sure how to translate it to this board. Thanks for any feedback.

Looking at picture 7 it looks like one of the pins to the 100u cap closest to the 3.3v regulator hasn't soldered properly.

Looks like you might have a few cold solder joints. I'd start with reflowing suspect solder joints.

Thank you Patrick. I probably do need to reflow some. I had a hard time on some.

Brian, it may be more than just the LCD. I doesn't appear to be available via the webgui. I didn't check my router to see if it pulled an address, but it says no heatermeters detected on the web gui.

If it helps any, I think i was not seeing 3.3V on some points. I'll have to look at these boards again to let you know where those issues were.

Okay guys, I now have power to the LCD. I reflowed a few solder joints, but to be honest what I think.may have done the trick was refreshing the micro SD. I tested after reflowing and with the original Microsoft and still nothing. I found an 8GB SD card, flashed it with the rpi3 software and I now have led power and a solid green and Solid red led light. Any ideas what that means? Nothing on the LCD, but it does have power now. The RPI has a solid red led on too.

Okay I'm getting somewhere now. I can now access the HM via my cell browser. Can't from my PC yet for some reason. Both are on the same router although one is hard wired and the other is on the wifi. My HM is connected via wifi at the moment. Ethernet worked as well. I don't see anything on the LCD but it does have power. Maybe because I don't have any probes plugged in?

Last update for the night. The LCD still isn't working, but everything else appears to be. The LCD does have power and is lit up, but no print on the screen. I plugged a probe and thermocouple in and temps seemed to be accurate. Fan was showing to be blowing at 100% with a solid red and solid green arrow. I need to figure out what the led colors mean. I figured out why my PC couldn't see the HM. I forgot I had my VPN connected. Thanks for any feedback anyone can offer.

Concerning the LCD, have you checked the adjustment on R6, the adjustment for the LCD? Just a thought. Try that and see what happens to the display.

I haven't tried that Bob. I didn't know what R6 was for to be honest. I'll try it tomorrow and update. Can I hurt anything on that adjustment?

More then likely that's the issue, if you have not touched it. I could not see anything wrong with your soldering and I think Bob is 100% correct

You guys are awesome! That's exactly what it was. It felt great to see that little LCD light up with data! I still have a lot to learn on the HM though. I don't even know what the buttons do yet. I'll do some more reading today but I'll probably be back for more help. Things I need to figure out:

Buttons
Remote monitoring/management
How to connect to an Akorn
Best settings for an Akorn

Thanks again!
Jeremy
