New 22 Won't Shut Down...

After a 3 hour cook, my new 22 won't shut down. I closed off all vents, yet 4 hours later, I just checked and coals are still smoking and temp is 150. I thought the coals would go out if all vents were closed? Is this because the door doesn't fit very well, letting in too much air?

takes some time to get it seasoned to fill in all gaps with grease. also make sure middle section is not out of round.

Most likely. Getting the door snug is the best place to start. Corey is also right in that it will "tighten up" with some more use.

Had the same problem with my WSM when it was new.

After a few cooks it will get better. After looking at the pic of your door. Its not really a problem.(mine looks the same) And i kill my coals fast.

Like everyone said it could be the door but it's not that bent up (unless it's really windy there) but more than likely it's just because it's new.
