Need to figure out exactly what these two grills are so I can order new fire boxes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Both have model and serial numbers on but the sun has faded the stickers to the point where you cannot read them

The one with wooden handle is a 1000, and the maroon one with the plastic table is a Genesis Silver C I think, because it has the side burner.

Either way, the 1000 has a firebox that holds 13 flavorizer bars. It is a deeper box than the Silver C has, which only uses 5 flavorizer bars. Both fireboxes, I am pretty sure, are discontinued items and you can't get them new anymore, but a lot of us have been able to salvage the fireboxes quite nicely.

What do you want to do with these grills, use them? Sell them?

I agree 100% with THyde. The Snap On redhead is kind of cool. One of my crazy ideas is to make a REAL Weber Snap On grill as opposed to the piece of junk ones that Snap On licensed some years ago. That red hood would be a great start!

Both of those grills seem to be in decent shape, so what's wrong with the cook boxes? Inquiring minds want to know. Even if you could still buy one new they would be quite expensive compared to just getting hold of a couple more used grills for parts.

I am with Steve. If you are just looking for clean new fire boxes, a trip to the local sand blasting guy can clean them down to bare metal and couple cans of High Heat spray paint will make them like new. Some outfits do powder coating as well, so basically you would get back a brand new box.
I agree that chances are you will have a really tough time sourcing a NEW cook box for either grill and if you do, it is likely to be cost prohibitive. Finding donor grills is probably your best bet if the current cook boxes are damaged in some way that cannot be fixed.

I’d really like to rehab both of them and give one away to a friend. Here’s some pics of some of the holes in the firebox on the Genesis C. The redhead does not have as many holes or as bad but it still has holes in it. Currently looking for dune or grills with decent fire boxes just need to know what’s compatible? And by the way both of the frames are rusted out where the firebox connects to the frame I am a welder from a previous life lol so I was considering fabricating new parts for the frame.

This is a freebie I found in my area here in Alabama and was curious if the firebox would work out of it for either of my projects?

Hmm, I know that cook box won't work in the genesis 1000 for sure. It might fit in the silver c though. I'm just not 100% sure on that one although for free I would take a chance.

Two things.
One - you can get new fireboxes for the Silver. I got one under warranty for free last year.
Two - You can patch those holes with epoxy putty and they will be fine.
Also that first picture looks to be a rusted cross member in the frame not the cookbox but I can't be shore. If it is Bruce has a video on fixing it.
