Naked Yams with Roadside Thighs

TVWBB 1-Star Olympian
a few peeled baby yams in a cast iron server buttered then sprinkled with turbiNAdo sugar. oven roasted for an hour @ 375ºF.

upside down chicken thighs basted every 7 minutes with Bryan's Roadside recipe

over direct heat/flames too long (not paying attention, too much yappin' & drinkin') [almost forgot to snap photos]

plated with Maldon Sea Salt seasoned broccoli.

the shé~cone didn't look very appetizing, butt the flavour was incredible! not over cooked, as i feared. just too much direct heat.
the yams, as always, fantastic! like candy!!

Maybe I'll have to try a third thigh technique tonight.
 
I dunno, Jim, I think you're underselling the plated picture. Then again, I do love a crispy chicken skin, so that looks absolutely fantastic in my eyes.

I was thinking the same thing. Looks right for roadside. Nice job on the sweet potatoes too.
