He wanted them off at 5 hours, I said 15 mins more, he was right, but they were very tasty

Wow that's an awesome father and son cook! From prep to finish he looked experienced, you taught him well! Oh, the ribs look great!
 
It was a good cook, great time with my son who now knows how to cook ribs which is something I didn't know until my mid 20's and that involved boiling *yikes*

The lesson learned was you can't go by looks. We both were dumbfounded by the lack of pullback, we were toothpicking and had increased tenderness right up to the 4.75 hour mark. That if at anytime should have been when we pulled them, but they were great and he now has rib duty in our home

Looks like the apple didn't fall far from the tree Chuck. Those ribs look pretty good to me...
