The only thing I am not sure of, is what size propane canisters to buy and where to buy them? Any idea?

1 # propane tank. You could buy one pretty much anywhere.

Nice buy I have one just like it same here I've used those 1 lb propane tanks. They were okay promise if you get a win that blows out the flame. I went to put in chimney on top of it that worked okay. But I kept blowing out so I just like the chimney off don't use the propane very often
