My First WSM Cook

For my first effort, I just did two chickens. The cook went well and the chicken was good. Only problem was the recipe for the rub called for paprika and I only had smoked paprika. Skin turned out a bit strong. Meat was tasty and moist. Over all, it was a good experience.

don't know picasa but you just copy the url of the picture and paste the url the picture icon on the tool bar above

Tried that but it only shows a link. I am assuming that photo bucket may be the only option. Maybe someone else has an answer.

Nice color on the chicken.

Use photo bucket it's super easy. There's a sticky thread in the gallery that tells you how to do it.

Great looking chicken!

Mike, I assume that you had to click on the link to see the photo? If so I guess I will have to start a photo bucket account.

Thanks, the chicken was good, just not the skin and that is what my wife remembers. I will be posting details and pictures of the mothers day cook later.

Bob, right click on your image and then click "Copy Image Location" When you post, click the "Insert Image" icon, third from the right), and paste your image location. Good Luck and nice chicken!

Thanks Rolf, That was just the help I needed. Now I just need to find a rub recipe that my wife will like.

Mike,
Once I have gotten the rub question resolved, I will regularly do two if not four. I am so tired of the taste of the cooked Costco chickens that my wife brings home that I want a supply of something that tastes good so I won't have to slather it in BBQ sauce (SBR) to kill the Costco taste. Besides, she can now pull the chicken and use it in other dishes. Got to recoup some of what I have spent on this wonderful device and accessories.

Great lookin chicks Bob the colour is fantastic even if the rub was a bit strong, my wife's fav rub i put on chicken is the simplest, lemon pepper, garlic, tumeric & s+p maybe try that on one of them and see what she thinks!

Glen, I will give that a try. What measurements of each do you use or is it just equal amounts of each? Thanks

Thanks to all for the encouragement.

Hi Bob just equal amounts nothing too fancy, sometimes the simplest things get the most praise :)

Hi Glen, Showed the recipe to my wife and she likes the looks of it. We are going to try it. Thanks
