My First Wood Slat - Genesis 3000 LX

I'm excited to be picking this up Saturday. I've been salivating over all your beautiful photos of early, wood-slat Gens in the group. This one looks to have really good bones. It will be a lifetime keeper I plan to fully restore with guidance from you guys... sandblast, powder coat, new guts... the whole nine yards. I'd like to add a drop table on the right and have a work table for the right side I can pop in when not using the sideburner.

That looks like a great candidate for a restoration, I hope you get it. The side burner itself does pop out fairly quickly but the gas connection is a threaded fitting like the regulator, so not really an easy out like the quick connect fitting on the newer side burners. I can remove the side burner from a Genesis Gold C in ten seconds, your grill more like ten minutes. Anyways, looking forward to seeing your project come along.

Thank you for the info, Steve. I was expecting to swap it out like my Genesis Silver C. I learned something new. Excellent!
