MSG substitute?

Hi all,

I am planning on making a batch of baby backs this weekend using the BRITU recipe. I was wondering if there is a good substitute for the MSG in the recipe. My friend who will be joining me for dinner is allergic to MSG.

Also if one good thing can be said about hurricane Isabel. I now have PLENTY of white oak for the smoker.

MSG, about 3% of the population is allergic but many more claim to be. It is a natural product that comes from vegies.
Just omit.

PS: My wifes says it gives her headaches, I guess that would be in anything but BBQ, cause I just don't tell her it's in the rub and she is fine.

Thanks for the replies guys. I just found the big thread where MSG was disscussed in full detail.

My friend also claims it gives her severe headaches. So who knows.
