Mr. Brown is in trouble

Well it seems the Fates are conspiring against me, I have two beautiful buts (Pork :o) ready to start there overnight journey to pulled goodness, I hope. The weather though has turned grey and is threatening rain overnight. I am considering two options, please advise which is least likely to require the local fire department:

1) I could Jerry-rig my picnic table umbrella to protect the smoker. My only concern would be it spontaneously bursting into flames and if its windy over night it could catch flight....

2) I could set up the smoker in the garage and just clear the space around it. Don't worry it is a detached garage, I won't be smoking out my family. Main concern is the three alarm fire.

Please share thy wisdom

I think you are ok either way...which ever is easier for you. I often smoke just inside my detached garage when it rains.

Personally, I would stay away from the umbrella option. The wind could catch it and drive it into your WSM, knocking it (and your butts!) over and... well, you can imagine the scene!
