Model Identification (And what is technically missing?)

The guy I bought this from claims he’s not aware of a left side swing table. But I can see the top rod it would hang from and also this curious metal bracket on the rear frame leg.

This grill does have the wood slats top left side table (removed for this photo).

With those clues, and the tank sticker,I assumed this was a Genesis 1000, but looking for some confirmation.

Also if it is, were some Genesis 1000 models made without the left swing table, but still having that rod included?

Some earlier Genesis 1 models didn’t have left swing tables but all 1000s had them.
1000Lx and 1100 were supported by sliders but 1000 used the setup shown.

Thanks, any idea what year it might be from? That metal bracket on the rear leg threw me for a loop, I’ve never seen that before as opposed to the 1 inch tall, black metal piece that the plastic slide usually rides on.

And can that slide rail be sourced from anywhere other than a parts Grill?

Since your grill has a bottom grate and not slats it also didn’t come with a slider, just a rod which hooks into that bracket.
Easy to add the slider assembly (and also the table) from a parts grill

Slightly off topic but, how does that “cap” come off? Is it just pressure fit or is there a “magic button” release?

You mean the bracket that holds the swing table rod in? There is a tab in it that fits into a slot in the bottom of the frame. How it actually comes out depends on how rusty the inside of the frame is, it can be a real challenge.

Thanks Steve, something told me that there was more to it than brute force. I might see if I can make one up out of stainless and “simply” weld that on.🤣🤣🤣
