Mix and Match Probes?

Im just starting my first build and im wondering if you can mix different types of probes. Im wanting to use a maverick for the pit probe and thermoworks needle probes for the meat. If you cant mix them would yall suggest i go with all maverick, or all thermoworks?
 
Each probe plug has it's own configuration, so you can use any probe in any port. However, the configuration of the probe has to match the port it is plugged into so be careful not to swap them around or the numbers will be way off.
 
Yup I just used a bunch of various probes laying around. Calibrated them with some boiling water, works great!
