...in honour of Bill Hays.
This recipe was taken from the latest "Weber's On The Grill: Steak and Sides" cookbook, although, I added the city of Grand Island, NY to the title.
Can't find a link to the recipe butt I'll tell ya the paste to slobber on the strips is made of EVOO, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, garlic, Ksalt, paprika, cumin and cinnamon mon...
Spread this pasty stuff all over the strips an lettem sit for awhile. You know, like 30 minutes maybe an hour if you like.
This ain't a science, it's only food.
So i got the grill going ok and added some hunks of mesquite wood for smoke then plopped on the Grand Islands (steaks), some halved Yukons and a half of a half dozen hot peppers
When things were groovin' and mellow, got the carrots boilin' in the kitch' for bout 4 minutes or so then cooled 'em with a half minute cold shower to halt their cookin' time so i could add em to the grill.
Not Weber's site, butt here is their recipe. [good stuff
]
At this point, everything's lookin' mighty fine.
With the Grand Islands done and restin' and the taters and carrots cooked just right, got a decent bottle of 2003 pinot noir vino named "Lulu B" and uncorked her...
then sat down to eet.
Lemme tellya, this was absolutely the best strip steak i've grilled in a VERY long time, if not THE BEST EVER!
and it may have EVERYTHING to do with the paste concoction from the Weber steak cookbook.
TastyOUTSTANDINGflavour!
Try it!
