I've been very happy with mine over the past couple of years. Indispensable for roti cooks, it is very handy for monitoring temps without having to open the lid. I'm not sure about the ambient temp reading, though, maybe because it is so close to the surface of the bird, but it reads consistently about 40deg. lower than my Smoke probe...but then again, I have never run two thermometers and had them agree with each other, so it really doesn't matter. I average the two readings. What I like about it is that it tells you when the food will be done (albeit it usually takes longer than what it predicts). What I don't like about it is that it requires a cell phone nearby to relay the signal and there is no Windows app.

Just a hint: the charger doesn't indicate that it is charging unless you press the button. I always make sure the base of it is clean and that it is charging as part of my prep for a roti session.

I'm just now hearing about this temp probe. Is it everything it's cracked up to be?
It's good for low temp cooks because it's an internal and ambient thermometer. I have found that it thinks it's in 500+ degree ambient thus sending all kinds of signals of eminent damage. Sadly, other ambient thermometers recorded the ambient < 500 degrees. In short, it's a very accurate internal thermometer for ambient temps no > 400ish ambient. The other downside is it doesn't range well and will disconnect from your phone is a very short distance

I agree completely, but it's the only wireless thermometer on the market today (that I know of).

I printed a cell phone holder that attaches right below my Smoke holder for my roti kettle because I kept forgetting to bring the darn cell phone in.
