Maverick ET-73 not working

So I have the maverick ET-73 and have been loving the remote and alarms for overnight cooks.

The problem started last time I cooked. I noticed that the smoker probe leveled of at 233. I thought that was great but it NEVER moved from it. I then ran my polder wired unit in and sure enough the temp was over 300.

I put the smoker probe in some ice water and it read 33, so I just can't figure out the problem.

Has anyone else has an issue like this and if so what do you do to fix it? Will maverick make it good for me?

First change the batteries. If that doesn't fix it call them. I've had good service from them but it depends on how long you've had your unit.

if you lose signal to the outdoor part, it reads the last read temp. that is the one bad thing about the et-73. if it loses signal it should have 3 dashes or something to let you know. try moving the indoor unit around to different places. regardless of if the indoor unit is reading or not the outdoor one will display the correct temp.

If there is one thing I hate about my ET73 is the fact that the power switch for the base unit isn't easily accessible. I can only assume its to weather protect the unit but it does make resetting the setup a PITA.

True.

Thanks everyone for the tips. I changed the batteries last night and that seemed to work. I'll find out Friday night I guess
