Maple Planked Salmon and Shrimp with Bacon Wrapped Gus

Mike Coffman

TVWBB Olympian
2 salmon filets were marinated for about an hour in KC Masterpiece Honey Teriyaki. Seasoned
with Pikes Place fish rub. Bacon wrapped asparagus was seasoned with Penzeys Mural of Flavor.

Filets and asparagus put onto the maple plank. Burning B&B lump charcoal again tonight and using
the Performer.

Salmon and asparagus are done. Looks like I needed to rotate the plank about half way through the cook.

Shrimp was skewered and seasoned with the Pikes Place rub.

Put onto the maple plank for a quick cook.

Shrimpies are done!

Plated on our “I forgot to turn the dishwasher on” plates.

Nice, quick and delicious Friday night dinner. The maple worked well with this cook as it was only
a slight maple flavor. The ends of the asparagus were a little crispy, which actually was pretty delicious.

Thanks for looking!

Very nice Mike. I'm waiting to see, "I entered this contest and finished First." You got this stuff dialed in!!!

That looks terrific.

Nice presentation!
I haven't planked in a while and your post just put me back into plank mode. Thanks for posting!

I like the idea of cookin' the shrimps on the plank: a little slower, a little lower temp. That's a fine plate of food, Mike.

Mike, i agree with ALLLLL the comments above butt i did not see the word PERFECT, so I'll say it:
