Manhattan Clam Chowder

I know many rail on Manhattan Chowder vs New England Chowder...but I love the former. I always buy a quart or three when we go the the huge seafood store at The Lobster House in Cape May. But now it's almost $10/quart so I decided to try my hand at making my own.
So far, I've used this recipe. It's excellent but a bit over-the-top and I think Chowder is the kind of thing you can modify along the way.


I also bought frozen whole clams to add to the canned ones.

Not the best summer dish but great during the colder months.
