Lots o' brisket

Got to make brisket for a big crowd, and I'm wondering what's the most brisket anyone has cooked in an 18" wsm.

Can you put them on their side? Add an additional shelf? Do either of these affect cooking, or cooking time?

Any advice appreciated (including, I suppose, the obvious: "buy another one"!). Thanks!
 
I don't see any reason why you couldn't stand a couple of briskets on their sides, thereby getting four into the WSM. I think that if you were to run 3 or 4 wooden skewers into each brisket it would steady them and hold them apart so that you'd have good air flow.

Does anyone see a problem with my idea?
 
I did 37# of flats a month ago. Set up 4 racks - bottom grate, top grate with a suspended grate hanging from it, and another grate upside down over the top one. Worked fine. Once you get it to temp it will just purr along.
