There is an older one for cheep that I'd try if I was doin a turkey.

Same one I have, I think I paid $100.00 new at Home depot.
Also does a great job on beef roasts and hams.
There are some expandable racks that you can do chicken, potatoes and vegs.

Seems like a cool cooker to add to the arsenal! I never heard of them before but never looked into them before.
 
That BJ's turkey fry oil says it's a "peanut and vegetable oil blend."

How bad could it be for $28.99? I'd probably give it a shot rather than pay three times as much for pure peanut oil.

I doubt anyone would bite into the turkey, wrinkle their nose, and ask if it was fried in an oil blend.

Someone who is rich should do a blind taste test and report back.
 
You do not need to use pure peanut oil.
For under $30 for 3 gallons of turkey frying oil is a great price, it was 30 bucks 10 years or more.

I should ask my DIL. She's a food scientist and her field is cooking oils.
