Last year of production for wood handle(smokey joe)?

Can anyone tell me the final year the wood handle was used for a smokey joe (silver) before they switched to the plastic handle? To me, the wood handle just looks better and it does not get as hot as the plastic one. Thanks to you guys....my addiction for weber kettles just keeps getting worse!

I think 1999 was the last year Weber used any wood for the handles.

My Dad has one of those but I think he got the thing before I was born. I asked for it in the will. Making one out of wood would not be hard.
