Last cook with my standard Kingsford charcoal


 
First choice is Stubb's, for reasons listed above. Wish I could find it here year-round. Use a lot of Blue Bag Kingsford as well...for it's predictability and availability (you can always find some).

Have tried the Trader Joes (Rancher). It's good stuff too...only carry it out here for a few months of the year though.
 
I don't know if this is a national deal or just at my local HD, but I picked up 32 bags of Comp K this week at $3.19 per . . . good timing for me as my winter reserve of charcoal/lump was running dry.

However, even with so much in reserve, I know I'll find myself buying some RO lump and Trader Joe's when they start stocking it up north again for the season.
