Knives

Aunt's birthday. I want to give knives, but I can not determine which ones to buy. Ceramics or steel. What do you think is better?

Steel, but, NEVER EVER Give a knife! Sell it for a quarter. Otherwise it's symbolic of severing a relationship.

I cant control how the wife washes dishes to be honest,I have some non stick that sez hand wash only ,I have to hunt for them and find in the DW,I do try to do as recommended but life happens.Also they are not wooden but some type of other material not plastic some thing denser it appears ,I have tested deer antler in the top rack of dish washer for 3 washes with a melting cover I made with no problems
