Kinksford Hickory

I've used a bag and have a bag in the basement. I can't tell much difference - you get a faint whiff of hickory while its lighting and there is an even fainter sense of a hickory taste, but otherwise, it seems to be K with some hickory sawdust mixed in. It's ok - not worth a premium over regular K pricing, IMHO.

agreed. Burns like blue bag, w/ a faint hickory (or misquite, sold as well) smell/taste. Even better if the bag costs the same as blue bag, which I always thought at wal mart it ussually does, just cant recall for sure. maybe you would like to do overnighters w/ it and it would be "just right" for smoke amount along w/ your chunks. I do like original K for overnighters.. and often use that stuff if I have some.

It doesn't add much flavor to the meat. Better to use a few hickory chunks. If the price is the same as the blue bag (and I'm almost certain it is) I will use it sometimes. Same with the mesquite.

i tried a bag and no difference than a regular blue bag. i dont think there is enough hickory in the briquettes to make any difference. better off using blue bag original recipe and using chunks of your favorite smoke wood.
