saw this was suppose to be available in April but found and bought a 2-pack at Costco today for $13.59. Can't wait to try it

Is it the rust colored bag or the blue bag? Reason I ask is that last year blue bag K went for $13.59 and this year the rust colored Comp K is going for $16.79 or so at Costco.

If you got Comp K, I'm glad to see that the price is coming down.

Regards,
Chris

yes,
if you could please say which that would be great. I'de love to hear if the price is coming down of comp. thanks a lot.

I looked the receipt. It is 16.79 with an "at the register manufactures rebate" of 3.50 so it turned out to be 13.29. Yes, it is the rust colored bag.

I noticed that the single bags of K. Comp are rust colored but the double bags at Costco are rust colored on the front and back (IIRC) of the bag but blue on the sides. Very Interesting!

From a distance, the only thing you see is the edge of the bag stacked up on pallets. So K did a special design for Costco with blue sides. This according to my contacts at K.

To confirm the $3.50 rebate at Costco...this in the Miami area. On another thread, there was confirmation of this in the L.A. area.

I bought the Twin 16.5 lb. pack this morning at the local Costco. With the $3.50 rebate, price was $13.39. I have not tried the Competion Charcoal yet. Look forward to reading about others experience and thoughts. Thanks.

Must be a national price. I just picked up the twin pack of comp K at Costco in Chicago (Lincon Park location) and it was $13.39 ($16.89 less automatic rebate of $3.50 as others have noted).

I suspect comp K may actually be a replacement of regular K if it is the only thing that stores like Costco are stocking. I realize Chris' article stated that this is a "companion" product, but I'll be interested to see how many large format stores (Costco, Walmart, Home Depot, etc) stock only comp K once we are in the middle of the summer.

Once regular K becomes "hard to find" then comp K has become the de facto replacement.

Picked my twin pack today at Costco and got them for 12.94. I will be trying them tonight under a tri-tip before even thinking about using them in the WSM
