Kettle lid thermometer install

Anyone have advice on installing the lid thermometer, 2 main things: first the installation and drilling into the lid any precautions that should be taken drilling the hole besides using to tape to minimize chipping, second cost iy looks like about $35 for the thermometer and bezel, not cheap but what is.

I just drilled holes and put it on. Easy peasy.

Since that post, I've also added the new style handles with tool holder hooks and painted the ash can black.

Walmart sells a nice big dial thermometer, $8
Drill a 5/8" hole
Done! Easy Peasy

And yeah, it's pretty accurate, it's about as off as the thermometer that Weber sells
