Just Picked up this black Genesis 1000

Yeah, those, Pintos and the like were the cars that allowed the Japanese auto makers to swarm into the US marketplace. Sad to say, but the big three deserved it. It took me until the early 80's to concede that, but when a co-worker showed me her new Honda Accord ~1983, I had to admit that it looked like a pocket Mercedes compared to what Chevrolet, Ford, etc. were offering.

Those are just the ones I'm concentrating on at the moment. I work on all different models. I really like woodworking and I'm looking forward to making my own slats on at least one or two of these units.
If you enjoy the woodworking, you should make some high quality slats and sell them! Anything metal and painting I’m good. Table saws and woodworking shops are a whole lot of nope for me lol.

Not a bad idea. I'll see how the first set comes out. Still have to decide what I'm going to do. Definitely not paint though. Probably a varnish on some really nice hardwood.

I did mine in cedar, its cheap and comes in a perfect size so u just have to trim length. Its a little tall but its fine if you are replacing the whole set.

And if you stain and clear them they will last as long as any expensive hardwood, my opinion. Unless u plan to just let it sit out in the sun and rain and snow uncovered...

Thank you I will definitely keep that in mind
