I agree it is a pain in the ***.You are braver than me --- I don't like going down into Seattle anymore.
West Seattle has been having quite a few nice freebies lately - too bad its such a pain to get to from the north end of the lake.
Well if you ever need help picking one up maybe I can give you a hand. Pretty easy to get in and out of my truck. Quick strap down and im good to goWill do. I keep my range to 5-10 miles from Bothell anyways --- I don't like driving (always) busy freeways with my trailer and city streets with parking on both sides and only one lane with the trailer really bites even more.
Those are just the ones I'm concentrating on at the moment. I work on all different models. I really like woodworking and I'm looking forward to making my own slats on at least one or two of these units.Lucky! I passed on two that were scrap bound yesterday. Although I did stop and steal some stuff off of them.
May I ask why wood slats only?
That's awesome and I don't blame you one bit. I'm looking forward to retirement in a quieter area. That is kind of funny about Seattle being a pain in the butt.
I’ve been here in unincorporated Clallam County for 6 years and have only been to Seattle once other than SeaTac, which doesn’t really count.
I am just fine out here on the OlyPen with out the city life after retiring from working in San Francisco.
You're absolutely right. I meant to say slats era Weber. Good call on that correction. So they could also be grills with the plastic durawood slats if you're going to replace them with wood ones. This grill started out with the plastic slats and I replaced them and the handle with new mahogany.View attachment 93162
I better get to work. they're stacking up around here. Three for free in less than a week. these grills are undervalued. Easy to tell that these are built to last. I worked on a lot of newer ones and they don't have the build quality of these old ones. I still like both.

I would think it would be harder on the old grills in Seattle, especially near the ocean.I guess they dont rot out in Seattle like they do in Chicago ... those are all clean !

I don't know about you but I keep my grill on the patio in my backyard, not in the street. Sometimes I even bring it in the garage in the winter, grilling in the cold isn't fun anymore.Chicago streets are saltier in the winter then any ocean Ive ever been to ...
