@ Collin, I agree I like the east-west config as well, though I've never used a new Weber that has the North-south. People claim you get better control with the Norht-South config. Seems like a logical argument though.
So, I ordered the igniter and got the flavor bars and CI grates for the Spirit and cleaned it up pretty good. Worked the burners pretty good despite not taking them off to do a coal soak. I just brass brushed them down and vacuumed as well as took a needle tool to the holes. Several holes were clogged but they seem to be good now. On the initial firing, big orange flames were present. I re-brushed for about an hour and re-tooled the holes. Now, no more big orange flames but now really good blue flames with a spot here-and-there of orange. Maybe I need to pull the burners for the coal soak(?). I hate to take stuff apart- sorta the ain't broke theory… So depending on how I feel about the disassembly, I may soak the burners rot try and get better flame.
I really want a side burner for this one or my Silver B - that's what really got me looking for anything. I'm thinking the Spirit is probably a better chance to have one added to it- if I can find all the parts!
