Just discovered that a $40 Performer will fit upright in a 4Runner if you remove the lid.

The Performers are also very simple to take apart with just a Phillip screwdriver. I've moved many of them in my wife's two door Accord!

Yes I put the first one i ever bought in the back on my CRV with lid off perfect fit.

I considered that. I drove well under the speed limit and thankfully didn’t have any issues.

Haha, yeah most people look confused when they see what car I brought to pickup the Performer. And I just have to explain that I need a couple minutes to take it apart.

We have a 2002 4Runner and have done the same. We used to call it the Home Depot express, dog Hauler, grill getter. Now it's just the Home Depot Express, dog hauler and Barbs Safeway hauler. Love to get something newer but the damn thing won't die, 210K and runs like a new car. Still looks good, everything works perfect, doesn't leak anything or use any oil.
