Thanks for letting me join in! I live in Maine and have wanted a smoker for years but just found out about the wsm projects through the tvwbb. I just happened to have a new smokey joe. I guess the rest is self explainatory.
Did a test run last night for a couple hours and then threw a spat chock chicken on.
I hooked.
Thanks for all the great info.
I'm going out to light the coals for a mini pork shoulder cook with some drumsticks and wings on the side.

The SJ mini is a great smoker! However it can be addicting! You will find yourself lusting after bigger smokers

Just resist the siren call of the propane or electric smokers - I know I had to resist the urge for a propane smoker, I was lucky to find this forum that made me realize that Webers are the best

Charcoal is all i've ever wanted. Had a couple gass grills, good for what they were. I'm over that.
I've got plenty of pics already, once I figure out photobucket etc i'll get some posted up.
Our first weekend of cooks produced some of the best food i've ever had. Amazed it took me this long to get here...

i'm hoping to get to that point w/mine. still in the front end of the learning curve.
Currently, work is getting in my way of my quest for smokey knowledge.
