Mamma and Daddy are Copper. Little Joey is not Copper. Joey is beginning to wonder what the mailman looks like.

Seriously... Does Jumbo Joe come in different colors like copper or other interesting colors? If so, post some pics of your Jumbo Joe. Thanks!

Weber 65131 Ash Catcher Assembly for 18-1/2" One Touch Kettle Grills

$43.59 so Mamma can look really like Daddy-lol

As with many families, this family history is complicated. Daddy (Copper 22”) couldn’t control his wandering eye and unable to resist the beauty of the younger sports model Mamma (Copper 18”). Old Mamma (Black 18”) has been relegated to off the deck. She has been the bedrock of cooking in the family for 10-15 years. Her many years of service have given her a superb internal patina that masterfully controls temperature and when she puts her foot down, she can snuff out coals almost instantly (saves coals for future cooks). She’s always there in a pinch to console the family with small home meals of steaks and burgers that warms the hearts of even the youngest in the family. Daddy is having real trouble letting her go. She knows when she gets the boot, she will lose it all (including the ash catcher, thermometer & lid bail). It will all go to Younger Mamma (Copper 18”) but she has never even cooked before so well see if she can measure up or is just a another high maintenance looker.

Uncle Bob's in the background lurking a bit..... does he not get invited to hang out on the deck? 🤣 :)

Good eye! To Old Mamma’s right is in fact Uncle Bob (SSP Gen 1). He’s another story. He’s a bit odd right now (top Copper/bottom Black) and not quite all there, if you know what I mean. We keep him off the deck and out of sight for now to prevent the neighbors from gossiping! The family didn’t even know he existed until just recently. He is “transitioning” as the family says. He’s solid but just needed a good clean-up and gas connector. He desperately needs to be dressed up with some fashionable accessories like some tool hooks and 5lb tank. The family wants to help him complete his “transition” so Daddy (Copper 22”) is on the lookout for a Copper kettle bottom (hopefully from a late model Performer with the extended Bail). Daddy will take his time until he finds just the right kettle bottom so Uncle Bob can get his act together and look like the rest of the family. …Or we may just accept and live with him as is because he’s a fantastic cook.
