Jealous Devil Wood Blocks at Home Depot

There is a Webstaurant location nearby, however, from the FAQ:

Do you have a store location I can visit?

We are solely an online company so we do not have any store locations. All orders are made directly on our website and will be shipped from one of our warehouses or manufacturer's locations. Our warehouses are distribution centers and are not designed for customer pick up.

Shipping costs nearly double the cost in the quantity that I am interested in, so how does this work for you?

The cite was for the bag example only. I then did what you did and found the shipping to be 1x the order price and proceeded to LMAO.

I’ll find a local source or wait til my wholesale source has product.

The two new bags will tie me over through April/May.

I was in Academy Sports last week & they had these marked down to around $3.50 a box. One box was open so I took a look, just looks like pieces of cut 2x4, I passed!

Yea that's too pretty to be smokewood, almost dimensional lumber.
The stuff I get from Smokinlicous is 2" x 2" x 3" but its cut on the length and split on the width.

I am not a fan of cut offs from the lumber yard. Kiln dried, moisture content is not optimal for smoking IME.

hey @Brett-EDH TSC in EDH is set to open March 25th in the business park across from Blackstone subdivision.

Ok that’s interesting.

I would guess small cut offs of the white oak would acclimate to whatever the relative humidity is pretty quickly.

I get these at work. I also make planks from poplar for grilling salmon, but I soak those in water for a few hours before using them.

I just tried the JD Cherry blocks - wow! I *really* like these - got about an hour or so of good clean smoke from one block - it smelled very clean/sweet - better than the usual cherry chunks I use from Weber that have a bit of a sharper/spicier smell. Going to do a rib cook with these later, but I'm enjoying the consistency and smell so far.
